Obituary of George F. Young

Graveside services for George F. Young, 98, of DeRidder will be held at the Whitaker Cemetery, Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 2 P.M. Services are under the direction of the DeRidder Funeral Home. George was born on December 12, 1921 to Lonnie Young and Martha Marze in DeRidder, Louisiana. He passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Young and Martha Marze McCullough; his children, Linda Marie, Ronald Lee, Lonial Wayne, Phyllis Ann and Gary Lynn; his brothers, Harley, Malley, Aubrey, Cecil and Bennett. Mr. Young lived most of his life in DeRidder. He was a Veteran who served during World War II in the United States Army. George was a self-employed Highline Contractor. He is survived by his children, Donita Lou, Stephanie Diane and George Dewayne; his sister, Lounita; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
