We were very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I don' t know that I can add much to what Caroline said, but we loved having you as our neighbors!! We have great memories growing up with you all. Your dad would bring over watermelons from the country and vegetables from his garden!! They were all great. Your mom and dad were both special people and I loved them both. We sometimes got in trouble, but that seems like fun times, now!!! I often think of your dad when I am near Oak Park and will miss him very much. We miss all of you too. Take care!!!!

Your dad was a very special person! I always knew his visit would bring at least a smile or often laughter. He was always happy and had such a fun sense of humor. He must have been a wonderful dad to grow up with. I pray he is at peace and very happy to be reunited with your mom and rejoicing in Jesus' presence.

Your Dad & Mom were fun loving people, loved each other deeply & loved you all more than anything in the world. It was soooo.......... very evident.Your Dad will be missed greatly. Paw, my heart is so heavy right now from missing you so much. You are the greatest man I have ever known. Often times you came across as a hard man but deep down you were the most loving, caring, sentimental man I have ever known. I credit you, watching you with grandma through the years with teaching me how to be a real man. Teaching me how to be a giver in a relationship with my wife and not a selfish man who took his wife for granted. You were always there for me when I needed you and always supported me and never chastised me or belittled me no matter what the situation may have been. I appreciate so much the love that you always gave me unconditionally and everything that you have done for me. The only thing that even comes close to comforting me is knowing that you are finally with grandma again. You were and always be such a special man and will always be with me in my heart. The good memories that I have of you are many and I will always, always cherish them and hold them close. I love you so much paw paw. Thank you for everything that you have done for me.

I always enjoyed hearing his stories of meeting the queen before she was the queen. Hearing of all his travels across the world the people he met the things he did. Even though each time he told it to me it always had a slightly different ending. I will always remember a man who always was in a good mood, regardless of the situation. I feel very blessed to have known Mr. Monroe and even more so to have called him pawpaw. No words can sooth the emotional hurt of loosing a loved one. The one thing that helps the hurt and the pain is knowing he is now with the one he loved and longed to reunite with.

Your Dad was a special person, he will be missed. I remember his "special watch" and having him show it to me more than once. You are in my thoughts and prayers and if there is anything that I can do, please let me know.
Remember that you taught me, the Lord is in complete control of all that comes to pass, and everything happens according to His perfect timing.
