Obituary of Mildred Ruth Bailey
Celebration of Life services for Mildred Ruth Mulig Bailey, 79, will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, DeRidder, LA. Officiating services will be Bro. Frank Ott and Bro. Tim Lee. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Sugartown Cemetery.
The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Monday, April 8, 2013, from the hours of 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Hixson. Visitation will resume Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Mildred Mulig Bailey was born December 10, 1933, in DeRidder, LA, to the late Thiloh Elmer and Edna Mae Ford Mulig and was called home April 6, 2013, in DeRidder, LA. She graduated from DeRidder High School in 1952. Mildred was a long time member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She retired from LSU Cooperative Extension Office with over twenty years of dedicated service. Mildred was a fair director of Beauregard Parish Fairgrounds for over thirty-five years and established the Healthy Baby Contest, overseeing it for thirty-four years at the fairgrounds. She was a past member of the Homemakers Association. Mildred leaves behind a tradition of making Christmas Fudge, passing it out to her beloved family and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents: her beloved husband; W.D. Bailey, one brother; Wayne Mulig and two sisters: Alberta Mulig Withrow and Neva Mulig Peckmore. Left to cherish Mildred's precious memories will be her son; Darrell Bailey and wife Marry, one brother; James Dale Mulig and wife Maxine, two sisters: Carrol Mulig Rieder and husband Richard, Lora Mulig Martin, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
