Obituary of Valerie Louette Carpenter

Valerie Smith Sewell Carpenter, 46 of DeRidder La passed away at Cabrini Hospital on January 10, 2014. Valerie was born in Zwolle, La on February 15, 1967. Parents Ruth M. Nyberg and the late Louis Smith of Many, La. Val was a vivacious woman and full of life. She owned and operated First class travel Agency of DeRidder. She loved working with people and sharing stories of family and friends. She most enjoyed fishing and working with animals. Left to cherish memories of Val will be her mother, Husband Clifford Carpenter of Dry Creek, La. Daughter Tiffanie Thompson and husband Jeremy of Birmingham, Al. Her sons; Mitchell and Steven Sewell of DeRidder, La. Sister Leisha Smith, brother Maxwell Smith and wife Lenora along with nieces Jessika Chaconus, Samantha Chaconus, Zalee Day and nephew McKinley Day. She also leaves behind a wonderful host of extended family and friends. The family will welcome guests for visitation Monday, January 13, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 1:00pm and internment will follow on the grounds of Ebenezer Cemetery in Florien, La. Bro. DeWayne Unruh and Bro. Wayne Lattwiller will be officiating.
