Obituary of Suzanne Hernandez

Suzanne Lynette Harper Hernandez, 53, of Sugartown passed away on March 23, 2017 in DeRidder, LA. Suzanne was born on February 1, 1964 to Percy Harper, Jr. and Diana Sue Henry in DeRidder, LA. She was a native of Beauregard Parish and worked as a self-employed as a caregiver. Suzanne was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Suzanne loved being active by hunting and fishing or working in her flower garden where she grew Gardenias and Hydrangeas. She loved music, garage sales, and animals. Suzanne was a very good cook; she canned foods, and liked experimenting with cooking and trying new foods. Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents, Percy Harper, Jr. and Diana Sue Henry Harper. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Kristopher Douglas and Steven Douglas and wife, Jennifer; one daughter, Mercedes Hernandez and Anthony Barco; two brothers, Prentiss Harper and Patrick Harper and wife, Missy; five grandchildren, Ethan, Lydia, Dylan, William and Baby Barco. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 5-9pm at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder. Services will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, DeRidder, with Rev.
