Obituary of John James Williams

Mr. John James Williams, 80 of DeRidder, LA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014. John proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. John worked as a Chief Operator for Conoco in Lake Charles, LA and retired after 37 years. He also was a long-standing member and supporter of the NRA. John also served on the Cemetery Board at Hopewell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Calvin and Lula Williams and his brother, Prentiss Williams. Of all his achievements, he was most proud of his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Anna Williams, 2 sons, Steve and Mike Williams; a daughter, Sharon Williams Binkley; a sister, Berniece Hanchey; 8 Grandchildren, Paul, Chad, Brent, Justin, Kristen, Steven, David and Jared Williams, and also 6 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Hopewell Baptist Church of DeRidder, La. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, also at Hopewell Baptist Church, 10a.m. with Pastor Stephen Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetry.
