Obituary of Nick Ricardo Carpio
Nick Ricardo Carpio, 62, passed away on Thursday, June 11th, 2015 in DeRidder, Louisiana. Nick was born on July 7th, 1952 in Honolulu Hawaii, and lived in DeRidder since 1990. He was a kind person who loved to visit with family and friends. His nieces and nephews were like his own children, and he enjoyed spending time with them. Nick was retired from the US Army where he served his country for 20 years. After retiring from the military, Nick then went to work for the Department Of Defense overseas. He loved to work with wood and could build anything he wanted; he loved to cook especially his Hawaiian food for his family. He loved to sing and was a member of the Diamond Baptist Choir. He is loved by all and will be missed by many.
Mr. Carpio was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Kate Carpio; two brothers, Gary and Manny Carpio; and one sister, Priscilla "Percy" Ka'auwai.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jama Brewer Carpio, of DeRidder one son Alika Larsen and wife Kristie of Bremerton, Wa; two brothers, Lani Paul Carpio, Russell "Russ" Carpio,and wife Carolyn, two sisters, Diana "Dee" Hansen, and husband Bobby, Sandra "Sandy" Tolentino, three grandchildren, Madison, Bailey and Alex Larsen, and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June14th, 2015 at 1: 00 PM until 4:00 PM and on Monday June 15th from 9:00 AM, until the time of service at 10:00 AM at Hixson Funeral, DeRidder Louisiana.
Interment to follow at Central Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
