Obituary of Hazel Hennigan Coody

Funeral services for Hazel Hennigan Coody, 86, of Merryville will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Junction Community at Merryville on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Jim Miers officiating. Interment will be at the Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA following services under the direction of the DeRidder Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th, from 10 A.M. until time of service at the church. Hazel was born on March 18, 1934 in Merryville, Louisiana to Henry and Helen Nichols Hennigan. She passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Many, Louisiana. Mrs. Coody was a lifelong member of the Calvary Baptist Church and loved going to church. She also loved to read and work puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin Coody; grandson, Mike Coody and sister, Wyolene Thurman. She is survived by her children, Diane Allardyce & husband Bob of Many, Deryl Coody & wife Kitty of the Junction, Dean Coody of the Junction, Donna McDonald & husband Dave of North Port, AL and Greg Coody of DeRidder; sisters, Yvonne Harvey of the Junction and Christine Bourgeious of Lake Charles; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
