Obituary of Billie Mathis

Funeral services for Billie Mathis, of DeRidder will be held at the DeRidder Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon Albert Weinnig officiating. Interment will be at the Beauregard Cemetery, in DeRidder, LA following services. Visitation will be held on Monday, 18, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Billie was born on October 24, 1925 to William M. and Mattie Brister Mathis in Texas. He passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 in DeRidder, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and daughter, Cherie Elam. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Charlotte Mathis of DeRidder; children, Rose Greenwald and husband Dennis of DeRidder, Debra Mathis of Rosepine and Tina Thoede of Carencro; son-in-law, Tony Elam of Kentucky; sisters, Irene Jameson of Winfield and Mattie Sue Corley and husband Sherman of DeRidder; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
