Obituary of Jody Ray Stephenson

Born March 1, 1977 in DeRidder LA, he passed from this life on May 10, 2020. He lived most of his life in DeRidder, with the loving care of his Grandmother and Grandfather. Jody was a graduate of DeRidder High in 1999 where he enjoyed his time and never met a stranger. In life Jody loved travelling with his grandparents and listening to Garth Brooks, his favorite artist. Jody passed from this life in the home where he was living in Jennings LA. He was proceeded in death by his Grandmother Nell Owens Rice and Grandfather Earl Lee Rice, and Grandfather David Owens and Uncle Lawrence “Buddy” Owens. Those left to treasure his memory are his Mother Peggy Bailey of Merryville LA; His Aunt Betty Rice Tucker and Husband Brad of Ball, LA; Cousins Shasta Owen and wife Melissa of Longview, TX; Terry Radney and Wife Diana of Colorado Springs, CO; Jennifer Sullivan and husband Paul of Alexandria, LA and a host of caregivers, friend and other relatives. Jody left his mark on anyone who ever had the privilege of knowing him, and will be forever missed by those he knew and loved!! A Small Graveside Service will be Saturday May 16th At 10 am in Beauregard Cemetery, under the direction of the DeRidder Funeral Home.
