Obituary of Paul Cooley

Funeral services for Paul Cooley, 89, of DeRidder, will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 11:00 am at the DeRidder Funeral Home, with Rev. C.J. Langton and Rev. Todd Keel officiating. Burial will follow in the Newlin Cemetery, in Singer, Louisiana. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 5pm until 8 pm, at the funeral home.

Paul, the son of Ira N. Cooley and Lena J. Jackson Cooley was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Singer, La. He passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, in DeRidder, La.

He is survived by his daughters, Diane Miley of Humble, Texas and Betsy Roy (Joe) of DeRidder, La; three grandchildren, John Paul Kimball, Kelley Schoppe (Jason) and Jeremy Roy (Ashley) ; three great-grandchildren, Jolie and Jameson Schoppe and Caden Hendricks; three step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; Sisters, Bobbie Shirley, and Barbara Langton ( C.J.), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Tullos Cooley; Parents, Ira N. Cooley and Lena Jackson Cooley; One brother, Leo W. Cooley, and sisters, Juanita Cooley Labue, and Odalee Cooley Williams.

Paul retired from Ft. Polk as Director of Supply and Services. He was a longtime member of Singer Baptist Church. He was past president of the Singer Water Board and Newlin Cemetery Assoc.
