I worked for Mark in the Mississippi River Delta right after I graduated from High School in 1966. He was the best boss I ever had - a great teacher, patient and had a terrific sense of humor. I remember one evening on the quarter boat for Sun Oil Company one of the younger workers was making fun of Mark's hairy body, so Mark pounced on him and rubbed his bearded stubble on the boy's stomach until he cried. I thought I was going to suffer a stroke from laughing so hard. Mark Knight was a true Southern Gentleman and someone who is missed very much. May he and his wife Louise rest in peace.

I didn't know when I met Mark on a cold subzero day in the mountains of Alaska's Brooks Range in 1975. That it would be one of life's gifts to meet a man with such wisdom and warmth. He quietly by example helped me as a young man see the important values a person could have. I'm fortunate I can still hear his wonderful laugh.

I knew Mark as one of the kindest, most considerate men i've ever known. He and my Dad were lifelong friends. Dad, Henry Adrian Weeks, loved Mark dearly and had the greatest respect for him.

I just found out Louise passed on only days after Mark. Makes me think Mark went first so he could open the Gate for Mrs. Knight, he knew it would be better that way. Lucky Ivey

My long time friend, one who taught me so much in my young adult years, one who always set such a good example of what a good man should be like, and one who greatly influenced my character in the developing young adult years of my life. I shall always remember our time together, the adventures in the bush of Alaska, your guidance and support in my wild years. It is an honor to have been your friend and to have shared the great adventures with your. This world is lacking with your departure, but I'm confnfident that your influence on those who were around you will carry on. Look upon us from time to time my friend, and I will look forward to seeing you again one day.

Uncle Mark, what will the world do with out you. You always had that great laugh that I got to hear several times. Wish we had been closer than we were, but distance will cause distance. I was so sorry to hear of your passing. When Sharon told me I almost dropped the phone, I was so in shock. My mother Lela Knight Dean was your sister and please when you see her in heaven give her a hug for me from my family. Never forget you were a very beloved Uncle and you will be missed greatly.
