Obituary of Robert Hood

Robert Earl Hood, 67, of Leesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his home in Leesville. He was born November 13, 1947 in Leesville, LA to Cecil and Johnnie Lee (Herrin) Hood. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory are his two children, Stephanie Lea Dotson of Leesville and Stuart Ryan Hood and his wife Melinda of Katy, TX. Also surviving are four siblings, Milton Wayne Hood, Barbara Ann Hood, Darrell Lynn Hood and Michael Owen Hood, two grandchildren, Raegan Elizabeth and Kaden Scott Dotson. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged. He then worked many years in construction, last as an Expeditor with Brown and Root Construction. Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge in Baytown, TX and he was of the Pentecostal faith. He will be remembered as a loving father who loved to fish, cook, and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed watching LSU Football and Saints Football. A visitation will be on Friday, September 4 from 6 to 9 pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville and will resume on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 12:30 pm until the time of service. A funeral service will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Hixson funeral home of Leesville. Burial will follow the service at Castor Cemetery in Leesville.
