Obituary of William Elser

William J. "Billy" Elser, 78, of Leesville, Louisiana passed away in his home, September 22nd, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Billy worked many years for Miller Brewing Company and also had a screen and patio business. He spent most of his adult life in California returning to the Leesville area in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army. Left to mourn his loss is his wife , Peggy Calcote Elser of Leesville, one daughter, Karen Elser of DeRidder, two sons, Billy Elser Jr. (Laurie) of Eden, Idaho and Kevin Elser of Fontana, CA. 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one sister Nell Douglas of Upland, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and 2 daughters Cheryl and Tina. Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 pm Sat 9/26 @ St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, with Father Jude Brunnert, M.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 pm Friday at Hixson Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 8:30 pm. Services will be under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
