Obituary of Paul M. Pruitt

Paul Murphy Pruitt Sr, 78, of DeRidder, Louisiana entered eternal peace on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 in DeRidder, Louisiana. He was a proud Air Force veteran and a retired Mud Logger in the oilfield. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mattie Burge Pruitt; four brothers, L.C. Pruitt, Harry Pruitt, Edgar Pruitt and Merlin Pruitt and one sister, Violet Hollingsworth. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are three sons, Paul "Spooky" Pruitt Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Timothy Pruitt and Fiancée' Natalie of Orange, TX, and Kevin Pruitt and wife Carla of League City, TX; two daughters, Monica Pruitt Cantrell and husband Steven of Hitchcock, TX and Tanya Pruitt of DeRidder, LA; eleven grandchildren, Kristopher Cantrell and his wife Michelle, Shane Cantrell and his wife Ashley, Tiffnea White, Brittnea Stiles, Derek Paul White, Joseph Smith, Dorian Pruitt, Mason Pruitt, Tristin Pruitt, Kenna Pruitt and Kullin Pruitt; eleven great grandchildren, Hannah Cantrell, Easton Cantrell, Kolten Cantrell, Kahla Beth Cantrell, Kaelynn Cantrell, Zoie White, Cloe White, Sheldon White, Kayla Stiles, Madison Stiles and Landon Stiles; numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A graveside service will be on Friday, January 9th, 2015 at Newlin Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana.
