Obituary of Jeston Burnett

Jeston Burnett, age 70, of Starks, LA passed away February 3, 2016 in his residence. He was born November 14, 1945 to Ocie & Hattie (LaPointe) Burnett, and grew up in the Dequincy area. He spent his adult life in Starks, LA working in the oil fields on the drilling rigs for Wolf & MaGee Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling. He loved being around family and was a member of Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church for several years. He married Wanda Smith and she preceded him in death June 15, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Andy and Harry Burnett. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include four sons: Dennis Wayne Doyle, Tony Dale Doyle, Lonnie Doyle Jr., and Timothy Doyle all of Starks, LA one daughter: Connie Doyle of Starks, along with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A brother, Clarence "Speedy" LaPointe of Baton Rouge, and a sister, Lori LaPointe of Kinder, LA. Along with many nieces, nephews and extended family who will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery, Dry Creek, LA. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
