Obituary of Ormun Lee Bushnell

Ormun Lee Bushnell of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this world on August 10, 2016. Ormun served his Country in the Army for 22 years and then retired as an Electronics repairman. Ormun was a devout Catholic and an amateur chef who enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for his beloved family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Masonic Lodge as well as a Shriner. He was kind and generous to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Ormun is preceded in death by his father, Elverton Bushnell and mother Edith Mathews Bushnell as well as his loving wife Norah Bushnell. Two sisters, Patricia Simmons, Joyce Stemler and one brother Lawrence Bushnell. Ormun is survived by three daughters, Leenora Broussard and her husband Jude, Edith Dougherty and her husband David, and Kathleen Ray and her husband Ronald. Ormun is also survived by three Siblings, Judith French, Elsworth Bushnell and Barbara Gallo, as well as nine grandchildren, Clark Broussard, Reid Broussard, Celeste Broussard, Chloe Dougherty, Aidan Dougherty, Brendan Dougherty, Ian Ray, Amanda Ray and Debra Ray. The Bushnell family will receive friends on Friday, August 12th 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM along with the Rosary at 7:00pm which will take place at Hixson Funeral Home – DeRidder Louisiana. Ormun Bushnell's Funeral Service and Mass will held be at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, Louisiana on Saturday August 13th, 2016 at 11:00AM.Father Jude Brunnert will reside over all services.
