Obituary of Mildred Virgie Stevison
Mildred Virgie "Millie" Stevison, Passed from this World on August 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her Loving Family. Millie was a life long resident of Vernon Parish as well as a life long Member of the Rosepine Pentecostal Church. She loved to shop and was an excellent cook. Millie was well known for her famous Rum Cake, Mississippi Mud and Sock it to Me Cakes, just to name a few. Millie loved working in her Garden and Flower Beds amongst Gods beauty. She was a prankster who always joked around. Millie enjoyed a good laugh and had a gift of making others feel right at home. She loved her Family dearly and her highlights were taking Family vacations. Millie is preceded in Death by her Parents, Fletcher Lonzo Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Cryer of DeRidder, Louisiana as well as her Loving Husband, Henry W. Stevison of DeRidder, Louisiana. Her Son Floyd Dunn Jr. and her Daughter Glenda Messer. Millie is also Preceded in Death by Two Brothers, Arthur Lewis of DeRidder, Louisiana and Harace Lewis of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Four Sisters Vernice Lyles of Reeves, Louisiana, Hazel Midkiff of Rosepine, Louisiana, Willie Mae Stephens of DeRidder, Louisiana and Pearl Ruth Brister as well as One Grand Son Kevin Dunn. Millie is survived by a Son In Law, Vern Messer and a Daughter In Law, Terry Dunn, Three Grandchildren Mechelle Wood and Husband Danny, Angela Wheeler and Husband Erik, and Tina Tourney and Husband Matt. Millie is also survived by Five Great Grandchildren, Jada, Brittany, Sadie, Brianna and Joshua as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will take place at Hixson Funeral Home – DeRidder, Louisiana - Monday August 22, 2016 from 5-9PM. Visitation will resume Tuesday, Morning, August 23, 2016 at 9AM until time of Service at Rosepine Pentecostal Church. Funeral Service will be held for Mildred Virgie "Millie" Stevison at 10AM at Rosepine Pentecostal Church. Burial to take place at Rosepine Cemetery.
