Obituary of Ben A.J Hyatt

Ben Hyatt, 93, passed away on August 13, 2010 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hyatt was born on May 7, 1917 in Hyatt, Louisiana and resided in Sugartown his entire life. He was a retired Foresty Worker and proudly served in the Army Air Corp as an MP in World War II. After his military service, he joined the Civilian Conservation Camp. Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Pauline Smith Hyatt; his son, Joe Hyatt; and grandchildren, Greg Thompson, B. J. Hyatt and Jeannie Snell. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Curtis Haney of DeRidder, Bennie Hyatt of Kinder and Timothy Hyatt and wife Deidre of Sugartown; daughters, Patricia Gassiott and husband Cecil of Elizabeth, Judy Snell and husband Homer of Pitkin, and Rebecca LaCaze and husband Robert of Pitkin; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will take place at Sugartown Baptist Church on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. beginning with a visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
