Obituary of Leon E. Woodard

Leon E. Woodard, 83, of DeRidder, La passed away on, September 24, 2010 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. He was born February 6, 1927 to the late Thomas Woodard and Elizabeth Lambert Woodard. Mr. Woodard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline Ford Woodard of DeRidder; Son, Michael and wife Sharon Woodard of Creede, CO; daughter Denise and husband Mark Moses of DeRidder; 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Leon was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in DeRidder where he served as a deacon. Mr. Woodard was a school bus driver for 23 years as well as owning and running his own trucking company for 50 years. Visitation for Mr. Woodard will be Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Ott officiating.
