Obituary of Thelma Register

Thelma Register, 79, of DeRidder, LA passed away on September 27, 2010 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She was born April 14, 1931 to the late Charley Self and Irrilla Simmons Self. Ms. Thelma is survived by her son, Harold and wife, Gena Register of Lafayette; daughters: Rose and husband Ahmad Abdullah of DeRidder, Theresa Register of DeRidder, and Laura and husband Howard Leake of San Antonio; grandchildren Corey Register of Philadelphia, PA, Tyronda and husband Khari Mott of Houston, TX, Howard Leake of San Antonio, TX, Harold Register, Jr., Hayward Register, Hunter Register all of Lafayette, LA, Hannah Leake of San Antonio, TX ; great granddaughter Nia Khari Mott and 5 great grandsons. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Harold Register, grandson Ezekiel Abdullah; sisters, Zelda Hicks and Judy Randall; niece Gailayn Williams and great nephew, Emanual Williams. Visitation for Ms. Thelma will be held at the Starlight Baptist Church on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 9:00 a.m until 10:45 a.m Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m at the Starlight Baptist Church of DeRidder, Pastor Daniel Stafford. Services will be officiated by Associate Minister, John Crosley. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
