Obituary of Judy LaNette Nolan Causey

Judy LaNette Nolan Causey was born April 24, 1947 in Farmerville, LA. She went home to meet her Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ, her parents - William W. and Rosa Mae McCowin Nolan, and her sweet and talented daughter - Karen Renee' Causey on October 21, 2010. Visitation will be at Smyrna Baptist Church in Sugartown, LA on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 3:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m until Service time at 4:00 p.m at Smyrna Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Judy loved and was devoted to her family and friends, who are grieved at her departure from this life. She loved having her family and friends visit and was a great cook and gardener. She married Monroe Patrick Causey in March 1969 and he was constantly by her side during her last months as she battled cancer. They have a devoted and loving daughter and son. Dena LaNette Causey resides in Alexandria, LA. Nolan Parker Causey and his wife Rachel reside in Sugartown. Judy and Pat were blessed with two granddaughters and one grandson. They were the delight of her life and she had hoped to love, guide and nurture them as they grew to adulthood. Mykal Renee Stainback resides in Alexandria and Kaiya Nicole and Carter Causey live in Sugartown. Judy leaves behind one sister, Ruby Coates of Farmerville, and three brothers. L.W. and Bernie, and Joey and Mary live in Farmerville. Wilton and Fran live in Ferriday, LA. Nieces and nephews are Bennett and Sonya Coates, Noelle Nolan, Channing Nolan, and Chad Nolan. Her great nephews are Douglas Coates, Brendan Coates, and Lucas Nolan. Her great niece is Deanne Coates. Judy was blessed with wonderful brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. They are Ira and Nathalene Causey, Gilbert and Cathy Causey, and Joy Borsky. Judy graduated from Farmerville High School in 1965. She worked as a telephone operator and then as a manager for Tupperware, where her outstanding performance landed her on the cover of their national magazine and featured her in a major article. Judy mastered the art of tole painting and in 1990 she opened Big Stick Long Bow in DeRidder, Louisiana which she owned and managed until her death. Judy exhibited great courage and strength in facing life's difficulties, which could be largely attributed to her strong faith in God. She was a faithful member of Smyrna Baptist Church for many years and served there in many ways including the Faith Team Ministry. For many years she served as a member of Lay Renewal teams. Pallbearers include: Bennett Coates, Channing Nolan, Chad Nolan, Mike Causey, Douglas Coates and Dempsey Pardon. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneral.com
