Obituary of Marietta Louise Miers

Marietta "Louise" Miers, 83, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 27, 2010. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 4:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m at the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m beginning with a visitation at 12:00 until service time at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in DeRidder with Pastor Alan Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Survivors include; Daughter, Becky Travis and husband Charles of DeRidder; Son, Rev. Jim Miers and wife Darlene of DeRidder; Brother Clayton Cryar and wife Patty of Gillis, LA; Sister, Juanice Peterson and husband Pete of Holland, MI; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner E. Miers; Son, Randall Miers, and her parents; Eunice Harrison and Verda Shirley Harrison Cryar. Louise was the 1st Secretary for the Baptist Association in Beauregard Parish.
