Obituary of Inge Malley

Inge Margarete Karl Malley passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short battle with cancer surrounded by her family. Inge led a full and rich life. Born in Munich, Germany, her mother raised her and her sister, Edith, during World War II while her father was a prisoner of war on the Isle of Crete. They endured much hardship during this period but learned to be resourceful and were stronger for it. Inge married an American soldier at the age of 19. She was self-taught in English and after 3 years was hired as a bookkeeper in Seattle, Washington. She raised 3 children as a soldier's wife and lived in various Army bases throughout Germany and the United States. After her husband, Kenneth E. Malley, died of a heart attack at the age of 40, she met her fiancé Dennis, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together in Rosepine, Louisiana. Her hobbies included scrabble, mystery novels, bowling and playing cards with family and friends. In her career, Inge was promoted to the top of her field with the Army and Airforce Exchange Service (AAFES) as a Merchandise and Sales Manager receiving many awards and accommodations. Inge was very proud to be an American Citizen. Inge is survived by her Fiancé Dennis Dodd and his children, Dianna and Lianne; Her children Rick Malley and wife Amy of North East, Maryland, Diana Malley Broomell and husband Mark Sr., of Colora, Maryland; sister, Edith Büchl of Munich, Germany; granddaughter, Christina Broomell Sollerer and grandson Mark Broomell Jr., both of Colora, Maryland, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Malley of North East, Maryland; and nieces, Ruth, Sabine, and Lydia and their families, all of Munich, Germany. Preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son, John Malley. Visitation will be held begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, 5 PM-9PM at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, and will continue Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel from 8 AM until time of service. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder at 11AM. Officiating of the service will be held by a Deacon from Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
