Obituary of Lee Sr.

Paul Lefron Lee Sr, was born on March 6, 1958 and passed on January 6, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeRidder and loved his church family. He was devoted to his mother, Elmary whom he loved her very much. Paul proudly served his country as a Sergeant E5 of the United States Army from 1976-1980. Striving for the betterment of his community, Paul passionately worked as a correctional officer at Angola Prison for approximately 13 years and Cottonport Correctional Facility for another 6 years. He also worked with the Marksville Sheriff's Department for 5 years prior to moving back home to DeRidder, LA to care for his father. The past 2 years, he worked at Cubic Corporation in Ft. Polk, LA and fostered many friendships and bonds with his colleagues. Paul loved sports, especially football as he was a proud Saints fan. He loved making people laugh and everyone loved to be around him. Paul was a soft spoken guy, but would speak his mind when needed. He is survived by his mother, Elmary Lee of Deridder; son, Paul Lee, Jr. of Deridder; brothers, Clyde Lee of Deridder, Cedrick Lee of North Carolina, John Lee, Sr. of Lafayette; granddaughter, Taijah Renee Noel of Lafayette; God Sisters, Cindy Garrick of Deridder and Angie St.Romain-Claude of Houston, TX; along with a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Lee, Sr.; his younger brother, Christopher Lee; only sister, Vanessa Lee; and both sets of his grandparents. Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Deridder. Visitation will be at 9:00am until the service at 11:00am. A Rosary will be held 30 minutes prior beginning at 10:30am at the church. A private burial will follow at the VA Cemetery in Leesville at a later date.
