Obituary of Gretchen Cruthirds

Gretchen Sim Cruthirds passed away on Thursday, July 28 at Westwood Manor Nursing Home at age 93. She is survived by her daughter Martha S. Parker, her son James H. Sim, and his wife Aniyada of Greenville, SC; her two grandsons Chad D. Parker of Greenville, SC; C. Todd Parker and his wife Amy, and Gretchen's three great-grandchildren, Emma, Yates and Blythe of Atlanta, GA. Gretchen taught for many years in the Beauregard Parish schools and at the Beauregard Parish Library after she retired. She was active in Trinity Episcopal Church serving in many capacities through the years. She cherished her time as a Pink Lady at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother David and her husband Joe. Graveside services will be held at Beauregard Cemetery Sunday July 31 at 1:00pm under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
