Obituary of Joyce L. Perkins

Joyce May Perkins Mrs. Joyce May Perkins, age 74, of Texarkana, Arkansas, formerly of Atlanta, Texas, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Perkins was born July 4, 1937, in Louise, Texas. She was a member of Apostolic Tabernacle and was retired from the medical field. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Perkins, two daughters, Brenda Dowden and Terry Foster, and a granddaughter, Sonia Reid. Survivors include two sons, Dean Underwood of Queen City, Texas, and Billy Joe Underwood of Longview, Texas, three daughters, Susan Rayburn of Texarkana, Arkansas, Lisa Fielder of Atlanta, Texas, and Cheley Kowalski of Atlanta, Texas, one sister, Faye Meyer of Houston, Texas, one brother, Benny Lee of Santa Fe, Texas, twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3:00 P. M. Sunday at the Good Hope Cemetery near Singer, Louisiana, with Rev. J. B. Yelverton and Rev. Tony Lee officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of De Ridder, Louisiana. Local arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. The family received friends at the Hixson Funeral Home, 210 N. Pine Street, DeRIDDER, Louisiana,from 6:00p.m.until 8:00p.m. Saturday.
