Obituary of Virgie I. Gill

Virgie I. Gill, age 92, of DeRidder, La., passed away on September 3, 2011 in DeRidder, LA. She was born in Pitkin, Louisiana and had lived in the area all her life. She was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gill, parents Valentine C. Stracener and Minerva A. Capps Stracener and an infant son. Virgie will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: sons: Marvin Gill, and wife Sue; William Gill; Randy Gill and wife Brenda. Daughters: Barbara Shirley and husband Kenny, and Betty Tate, 10 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great -Great Grandchildren, all of DeRidder, Louisiana area. Visitation for Virgie will be held on Monday, September 5th at the Smyrna Baptist Church between the hours of 4:00 and8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at 10:00a.m., at Smyrna Baptist Church. Brother Frank Ott and Tim Lee will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
