Obituary of Jeannie Albertine Blanchard Cooley
Jeannie Albertine Blanchard Cooley, 87 of Oberlin, LA passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Jeannie was born on October 12, 1923 to Albert Blanchard and Jeanne Dealoffer Blanchard in Paris France.
Jeannie was a WWII translator for the American Hospital in Paris France where she met her future husband. She moved to the United States in 1943 where Melton and Jeannie were married.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Melton Cooley and Sisters: Yvonne and Jacqueline.
Jeannie leaves to cherish her memory; Sons: Albert and wife Debbie Cooley, Patrick and wife Kim Cooley, and Benjamin and wife Julia Cooley; Daughter, Jeanette and husband Clarence Kemp; Sisters: Ammie Blanchard, and Simone Delafoise; 15 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held for Jeannie on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Mittie from 4:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Brother JR Dowden and Brother Ron Butler will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Simmons Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.
