Obituary of Lois Elizabeth Johnson

Lois Elizabeth Johnson passed away at the age of 89 years and 5 months. She was a resident of DeRidder, La; where she lived for the past 51 years. She passed from this life on October 30, 2011 at Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder, La. She went peacefully in her sleep. She was born on May 30, 1922 in Leesville, La. Her parents were John E. Herring and Nancy Catherine Ellis Herring of Hornbeck, La. She had eight siblings. She was married to Ervin Alvie Johnson (Jimmie), and spent her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was a proud member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder, La. Mrs. Johnson was survived by her four children, Johnny R. Johnson and wife Linda K. of DeRidder, La; Tommy E. Johnson and wife Sherrie of Houston, Texas; Charles D. Johnson of Clearlake, Texas; and Nancy Catherine Wear and husband Russell of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Crosby of DeRidder, La. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ervin A. Johnson, her parents and seven siblings. Services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. with her son, Johnny Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Johnson, Mark Johnson, Tim Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Matthew Wear and Jeremy Wear. Visitation will be Tuesday November 1, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. Burial will be at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, La.
