He was a devoted Christian, Husband, Father, Step-Father, Grandpa and Friend to all who knew him in a long and productive life. He lived a life of Christian ideals with a smile and cheering spirit that warmed the hearts of all who knew him. Those, to whom he delivered communion in their homes or their hospital room when they were ill, and with whom he prayed and worshipped, knew and loved the man first hand. With malice toward none and charity toward all, he passed through this life touching all with cheerful goodness and loving kindness. As a Baseball Coach and Scout Master for many years he lived the maxim, "No man stands so tall as when he kneels to help a child." He was a veteran of WWII serving in both Pacific and European Theaters. His most recent accomplishments involved his sponsoring the "The Ernie Duhon Weekly Newsletter" that literally touched hundreds If not thousands and those who knew him were blessed and touched forever.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lavonia (Lacy) Duhon; sister, Elaine Duhon, and brother, Willis Duhon.
He is survived by his wife Angie Neely Duhon, step son Ray Harvey: 3 sons James Duhon and wife Carol of Sulphur, Michael Duhon and wife Sheila of Slidell, Lawrence Duhon and wife Juie of Houston, TX, and one daughter Lagina Johnson of L.C., also 13 grand- children, 14 great-grand-children and 1 great- great- grandson.
