Obituary of Melba S. Knoblauch

After 69 years on this earth, Melba S. Knoblauch was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 15, 2012 She passed away peacefully at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake charles, Louisiana, with her daughter Connie by her side. She worked for many years at Zurich American Insurance. After retiring, she became a jetsetter, enjoying travel to a variety of countries. She is was a long time resident of DeRidder, La. and an esteemed member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She led a rich and fulfilling life enjoying time with her numerous friends and family. Waiting patiently on her arrival to her new home in Heaven her Precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and other family members, including her loving husband, Herbert Johan Knoblauch Jr. Mother, Clara Taylor Saunders, Father, James Selby Saunders and brothers, Jim Saunders and Glenn Brown. Her daughters take great comfort in knowing that she has been united with the love of her life and together, forever they now will sing Jesus' praises in the land where death comes not. She leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss her tremendously, but rejoice in the knowledge that their loss is Heaven's gain and that she has been united with her Lord. Surviving family members include, children, Julie Knoblauch, Geri McNeal and husband Joe, Connie Akers and husband, Gregg.Grandchildren, Mike Demicelli and wife Katie, Herbert (Bo) Johan Knoblauch III, Timothy Knoblauch, Michele Mc Dowell and Krickett Akers. Great-grandchildren, Herbert (J.J.) Johan Knoblauch IV, Lilly Demicelli, Raelynn Demicelli and Cassidy Knoblauch. Siblings, Selba Bahyi and husband Glenn, Reggy Saunders and wife Gloria and Bobby Brown and wife Janie and a very cherished Aunt Eva Taylor. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Family viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a public viewing at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at Hopewell Cemetery at noon.
