Obituary of Harriet Garlington

Harriet Maxine Garlington, age 65, of Grant, La. passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Oakdale Community Hospital in Oakdale, La. Mrs. Garlington was born on January 27, 1947 to Willie Ray and Mildred Andrews. She was a supervisor for Oakdale Dress in Oakdale, La. for many years. Mrs. Garlington will be loved and missed by all who knew her. She was survived by her husband, H.E. Garlington Jr. of Grant, La., Daughters, Mary Ellison, and husband Keith of Grant, La. Cara Smith and husband Laddie of DeRidder, La. and Katy Garlington of Elizabeth, La. One sister, Irlene Strother of Oakdale, La. and one Brother Curt Andrews of Texas. She was also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Harriet was preceded in death by her son Casey Garlington, and her parents, Willie Ray and Mildred Andrews. Visitation for Mrs. Garlington will be on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, at 2:00 p.m. Sugartown Baptist Church in Sugartown, La. Pastor Alfred Kennedy will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sugartown Cemetery in Sugartown, La; under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, La.
