Obituary of Jessie Franklin

Jessie Otto Franklin, age 90, of DeRidder , La. passed away on February 27, 2012 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, La. Jessie was born on November 26, 1921 in Evans, La. to Jessie Alonzo Franklin and Minnie Viola Huey Franklin . Jessie was a veteran of WWII and was self employed in the pulpwood business. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Jessie was survived by daughters, Sandra Gaye Simmons and husband Larry of DeRidder, La. Patricia Ann Jones and husband Ronnie of DeRidder, La. Mary Katherine Worthey and husband Don of San Antonio, Texas Barbara Jean Hudson and husband Jim of San Antonio, Texas and Lillie Marlene Keeling of San Antonio, Texas. Sons, Billy Otto Franklin and wife Jan of DeRidder, La. Ronald Franklin of DeRidder, La. Larry Allen Franklin and wife Vanessa of San Antonio, Texas, and Edward Lee Franklin and wife Becky of Ragley, La. He was also survived by one sister Elverine Austin of Baton Rouge, La. and 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Grissom Franklin and his parents Jessie and Minnie Franklin and by two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. Services will be held on Thursday ,March 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. Rev. Clyde Snider will be officiating under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.
