Freeman LeRoy Jones of Dawson, TX passed away on April 5, 2012. Freeman was born on May 30, 1939 in DeRidder, LA. to the late, Richard and Winifred Ware Jones. Freeman was survived by his wife of 54 years, Verna Mae Jones of Dawson, TX. Two daughters: Pam Dailey and husband, Jesse of Ragley, LA. Becky Franklin and husband, Eddie of Longville, LA. Two sons: Richard Jones and wife, Lisa of Corsicana, TX. Jeff Jones of Longville, LA. One Sister: Sandra Faye Montgomery and husband Gene of DeQuincy, LA. Five brothers: Clyde Jones and wife Dee of Everton, AK. Ronald Jones and wife Donna of Coalgate, OK; Keith Jones and wife Dwana of DeQuincy, LA. Ed Smith of Lake Charles, LA. David Smith and wife Kathy of DeQuincy, LA. He was also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Freeman was preceded in death by a grandson, John Dailey of Ragley, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hixson Chapel in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA.
