Obituary of Dorothy B Fields

Dorothy Fields, age 89, of DeRidder, La. passed away on April 21, 2012 at DeRidder Retirement & Rehab in DeRidder, LA. Dorothy was born on September 3, 1922 in Lake Charles, LA. to the late Theodore and Cleona Blanchette. Dorothy was a charter member of the Lady's Auxillary VFW Post in DeRidder, LA. Dorothy loved going to the Coushatta Casino Resort. She also loved card and board games, and she loved her family deeply. Dorothy will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Dorothy was survived by, Sons, Roland Savant and wife, Kay of Arlington, TX. David Yeakle and partner Miranda Guillory of Austin, TX. and Richard Yeakle of Lockhart, TX. Daughters, Rebecca Hurry and husband, Larry of Killeen, TX., Nancy Huckaby and husband, Darrell of DeRidder, LA. Step-Daughters, Lynette Beck and husband Larry of Woodville, TX. and Marie Waltz and husband, John of Woodville, TX. Brother, A.J. Blanchette and wife, Helena of Lake Charles, LA. Sister, Margaret LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA. She was also survived by 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac R. Fields, one son, Ronald Savant, one daughter, Ruth Dudick, one brother, Adam Blanchette and also one sister, Evelyn Peet. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA. from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Jack Reynolds will be officiating and Janet Aguillard will sing. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Lake Charles, La. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:00a.m. under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, La.
