Obituary of Herbert Buckley

Herbert Buckley was born on November 21, 1927 in Singer, LA. to the late Avis Calaway and Houston Buckley. He came to know the Lord in 1964 joining Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle. He met and married Margaret Ann Hickman and to this union ten children were born. He later married Delores Feast and an extension of six more children were added. He was a cherished member of Abundant Life Church where Robert Rutherford was his pastor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sister Margaret Ann Buckley, his father, Houston Buckley, his mother, Avis Buckley, and five brothers: Hurel Buckley, Shelby Buckley, David Buckley, James Buckley and Billy Joe Buckley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Yolanda Gill (Derek), Veronica Ashworth (Richard) ,Phillip Buckley (Vicki), Lonnie Buckley, Thurman Buckley (Lana), Shalanda Cornelius, Candace Buckley, Trent Buckley, Trina Doyle (Derek), and Patricia Hickman Johnson (Johnnie). and by 19 grandchildren. He was also survived by his wife, Sister Delores Buckley and her children, Jessica Bolden, Phoebe Feast, Joshua Watts, John Bolden Jr. (Antoinette), Jerome Watts (Alicia), Lena Bolden and 13 grandchildren. Also surviving was one brother, Houston Buckley Jr. (Mae Helen) and one sister, Pam Coar (George) as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends will miss him dearly. Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Robert Rutherford will be officiating.
