Obituary of Jade Elizabeth Travis

Jade Elizabeth Travis was granted her Angel wings on May 28 following a lifelong illness. Her final day was spent surrounded by her family and in the thoughts of those that she had touched in many ways throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Jade's life of 16 years might seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by her understood that her quality of existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which she lived it. Her beautiful smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice could always be heard. With Jade's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss her everyday, she will always remain forever in our hearts. Jade is survived by her loving parents, Bret and Tara Travis of Alexandria, Louisiana; Sister Carsyn Travis; Grandparents Jim and Tammie Ham of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Charles and Becky Travis of DeRidder. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30pm on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Hixson's Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. There will be a graveside service at 10:00am on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.
