Obituary of Donald Martin
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Donald Earnest "Butch" Martin, 67, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m.at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens, Louisiana with Dr. Dick Sumner of New Hope Baptist Church, Dickinson, Texas, and Bro. Arlen Smith of Providence Baptist Church, Rosepine, Louisiana officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cravens, Louisiana. The family will be receiving friends for visitations Friday, June 15, 2012, from the hours of 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Cravens, Louisiana.
Butch was born August 28, 1944, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Wilbur Woodrow and Lillian Belle Wilson Martin Sr. and was called to his Heavenly home unexpectedly June 14, 2012, in Texas City, Texas. Butch served this grateful nation by enlisting with the United States Army leading him into a career for the Federal Civil Service. Butch was Past Grand Master of the American Canadian Grand Lodge of the United Grand Lodges of Germany. Butch was a member of many Masonic concordant bodies. Butch will be greatly missed and often remembered for his loving mannerisms.
Left to cherish memories of Butch will be his beloved wife; Beverly Jean James Martin, one son; Jamie Leland Martin and wife Amber, one daughter; Donna Lynn Saunders and husband Gary, two sisters; Peggy Mayo and husband Bill, and Patricia Brisendine and husband Andy, one brother; Woody Martin and wife Cheryl, three grandchildren; Shea Saunders, Mason and Carson Martin, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Greg White and wife Connie, two uncles Will and Murril Willis, along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Butch as pallbearers will be Jerry Ladd, Ricky Thompson, James Johnson, CM Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Evans Eliot, Johnny Johnson and Mackey Willis.
Memorials may be made to Galveston Shriner's Burn Center of Shriner's Hospitals on honor of Butch.
