Obituary of James Wacy Stamps

James Wacy Stamps, 63, of Merryville, Louisiana entered eternal peace on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 in Merryville, Louisiana. He liked to hunt, watch animals, working with his hands but his true love was his family. Mr. Stamps was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Coody Stamps Ashworth; and one son, James Daniel Stamps; paternal grandparents, Isaac and Doshie Stamps; maternal grandparents, Otis and Louise Coody. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his father Isaac Wacy Stamps of Merryville, LA; stepfather, Huey Ashworth of Merryville, LA; one sister, Cathy Lott and husband Robert of Merryville, LA; six brothers, Jerry Lynn Stamps of Newton, TX, Larry Wayne Stamps and wife Juanita of Newton, TX, David M. Stamps of Merryville, LA, Glen L. Stamps of Merryville, LA, Thomas L. Stamps and wife Jackie of Merryville, LA and Earnest Ashworth of Conroe, TX; sister-in-law, Sheila Stamps of Dallas, TX; nine nieces; seven nephews and numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Bethel Grove Pentecostal Church in Merryville, LA from 4:00pm until the time of service on Monday, April 13th, 2015 at 2:00pm with Brother Roy Hoosier officiating. Interment will follow at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA. Arrangements under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA.
