Obituary of Fern Marie Hayes

Celebration of life services for Fern Calloway Hayes, 68, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2012, in the Hixson Chapel, DeRidder, LA with Bro. Raymond Rainwater officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Whitaker Cemetery, DeRidder, LA. The family would like to accept guests for visitation Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 5-8 p.m., at Hixson Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Mrs. Hayes was born October 20, 1944, in DeRidder, LA, to the late Lewis Leroy and Alice Marie Cooley Calloway, and was called to her Heavenly home, December 14, 2012, in Lafayette, LA. She managed Mohawk Storage in DeRidder and enjoyed staying home and caring for her family. She was a loving mother who always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed and treasured by those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter; Denise Self. Left to cherish Mrs. Hayes' memories will be her beloved husband Ronnie Hayes, two sons: Randy Hayes and wife Jaclyn, and Riley Hayes, five grandchildren: Dillon, Justin and Katie Avery, Dane and Colt Hayes, two great-grandchildren; Addison and Josh Avery, along with many extended family members and numerous great friends. Honoring Mrs. Hayes as pallbearers will be David Brister, Craig Kalemjian, Dillon Avery, Justin Avery, Steven Cooley, and Gerald Arrington.
