Richard "Ricky" Carter West Celebration of Life services for Mr. Richard Carter West, 45, of DeRidder, LA, will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 10 am in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. The family would like to welcome guest for visitation on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 5pm-9pm and again from 9 am until time of services at 10 am in the chapel at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Mr. West was born on January 21, 1968 in DeRidder, LA, to Roxy and Linda (Vander) West of DeRidder, LA. He was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in DeRidder, LA. He was an avid chess player, loved to be around people, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. When asked about him, his friends always replied "He was a ray of sunshine." Richard is preceded in death by; his grandmother, O'Neal Horton; and his sister Tammy Sue Cardy. Left to honor him are; his mother and Father Roxy and Linda West; His two sons; Brandon West of Eudora, KS. and Colby West of Eudora, KS. Also left to cherish his fond memories is his brother Kenny Beckwith and wife Billie Jo of Rosepine, LA, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
