Obituary of Mary June McComic
Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Mary June McComic, 77, will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Pitkin, with Bro. Brian Thurman and Bro. Rod Martin officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Blue Branch Cemetery, Pitkin.
The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Pitkin.
Mrs. McComic was born February 16, 1936, in Sugartown, to the late Jasper and Margaret LaCaze Kemp and was called to her Heavenly home March 16, 2013, Alexandria. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pitkin, and was an active member of the Eastern Stars. Mrs. McComic loved working her garden and baking her famous coconut cakes. She always enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Mrs. McComic leaves behind a legacy of compassion towards helping others.
Mrs. McComic was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; Charles Lee McComic, two sons: Joey Michael Kemp and Charles William McComic. Left to cherish Mrs. McComic's memory and share her stories will be her two brothers: Jay Kemp and wife Winnie of Westlake, Bill Kemp and wife Alice of Pitkin, two grandsons: Joseph Kemp and wife Celeste of Holden, Kevin Lee Kemp and wife Christi of Rosepine, three great-grandchildren: Courtney, Ethan and Brooklyn Kemp, first cousin; Martha Weeks Eskine of Baton Rouge, a dear friend; Ray Dickens of Wye, along with other family members and many wonderful friends.
