Obituary of Richard Marvin Verdine
Celebration of Life services for Richard Marvin Verdine, 62, will be held Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, DeRidder, LA, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alvin Peters, Rev. Ewell Archield and Pastor L.F. Guy officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
The family would like to greet guests for visitation in honoring Mr. Verdine's cherished memories on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Hixson Chapel.
Mr. Richard Marvin Verdine was born October 2, 1950, in DeRidder, LA, to Ruby Lee Denmond and the late James Verdine and peacefully departed to the Lord's kingdom on March 21, 2013, in DeRidder, LA. Following graduation at Carver High School, Mr. Verdine chose to serve this grateful nation by enlisting in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, taking in the great-outdoors and spoiling his daughter and granddaughter.
Mr. Verdine was preceded in death by his father and his only brother; Terrance Verdine. Left to cherish Mr. Verdine's memory and share his stories will be, two daughters: CeCely Archield (Hosea "Buck" Buckley), Jenea Greenwood, granddaughter; Shyanna Archield, along with many extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Mr. Verdine as pallbearers will be Quincy Archield Sr., Douglas Lynn Archield, Edward Stewart, Earnest "Butch" Lawrence, Dantrell Cross, Marvin Scott, and Elmo Monroe. Honorary pallbearers will be Hosea "Buck" Buckley, Robert Moore, Doug Malachi, Corwin Archield and Randy Archield.
