Obituary of Ruby Lee Denmond

Celebration of Life services for Ruby Lee Denmond, 89, was held Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, DeRidder, LA, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alvin Peters, Rev. Ewell Archield and Pastor L. F. Guy officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA. The family would like to greet guests for visitation in honoring Ms. Denmond cherished memories on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Hixson Chapel. Ms. Ruby Lee Denmond was born January 18, 1924, in Ragley, LA, to the late Sam and Lula Byrd Denmond and peacefully departed to the Lord's kingdom on March 23, 2013, in DeRidder, LA. She graduated from Beauregard Parish Training School (Carver). Ms. Denmond was a member of Mt. Cannon Baptist Church since the early 1980's. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening, and spending quality time with family and friends. Granny will forever be remembered sitting on the front porch enjoying a cold Coca-Cola. Ms. Denmond was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Terrance and Richard Verdine, two brothers; James and Leonard Riley, one sister; Elois Richardson. Left to cherish Ms. Denmond's memory and share her stories will be, two granddaughters: CeCely Archield (Hosea "Buck" Buckley). Jenea Greenwood, one sister; Sadie Tatum, one brother; Sam Denmond Jr., great- granddaughter; Shyanna Archield, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Honoring Ms. Denmond as pallbearers will be Quincy Archield Sr., Douglas Lynn Archield, Edward Stewart, Earnest "Butch" Lawrence, Dantrell Cross, Marvin Scott, and Elmo Monroe. Honorary pallbearers will be Hosea "Buck" Buckley, Robert Moore, Doug Malachi, Corwin Archield, and Randy Archield.
