Obituary of Joseph Owen Lambert

Celebration of Life Services for Joseph Owen Lambert, 60, will be held Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10:00am at the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA with Brian Ridgeway officiating. Family will also welcome guests at Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder for visitation on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 6:00-9:00pm. Joseph Lambert was born September 23, 1952 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Doris Ann Bristow Lambert and J.D. Lambert and peacefully departed on Monday July 1, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Joseph was a truck driver for 30 years. He will be remembered for his love of fishing. He is also known for his passion of playing cards and spending time at casinos. The Queen of Hearts was his favorite card. Joseph's favorite place was Biloxi, Mississippi and loved taking his daughters there. Mr. Lambert will be cherished for being a fun loving man and an absolute joy to be around. Joseph is preceeded in death by his parents; brother, James "Jimmy" Lambert; daughter, Doris Ann Lambert. Left to cherish Mr. Lambert's memories are his wife of 25 years, Virginia Calcote Lambert; daughter, Laci DeAnn Lambert of Leesville, LA; son, Joseph Dewayne Lambert of Almagorda, NM; step-daughter, Kristi Diane Stephens of Rosepine, LA; brother, Jessee Dewayne Lambert of Carrollton, KY; grandchildren, Tristin, Cody, Josh, Brayden; and a wonderful caregiver, Chad Cole Hall of Rosepine, La. Joseph also leaves behind a wonderful host of adopted children along with many great friends and family. Honoring Joseph as pallbearers are Troy Stephens, Buster Calcote, Bradley Calcote, Victor Hall, Tristin Lambert, Josh Soules, Justin Cooley, Nathan Grooms, Timothy Stephens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Calcote, Gabe Stephens, Daniel Stephens, and Donnie Masson.
