Obituary of Ersia Lea Cox

Services celebrating the life of Ersia Lea Evans Cox, 101, of DeRidder will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery. Rev. Lindsey Burns and Rev. Greg Crawford will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 9, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in DeRidder. Services are under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in DeRidder. Ms. Ersia Lea was born April 2, 1912 in Ludington, Louisiana to Riley and Matilda Evans and went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2013. Ms. Ersia Lea is preceded in death by her parents Riley and Matilda Evans, her husband William Morris Cox, her son Billy R. Cox and her sisters Eva Louise Evans and Willie Mae Hall. She is survived by one son Jimmy Wayne Cox and wife Betsy, daughter-in-law Nelda L. Cox, six grandchildren Morris W. Cox and wife Cynthia, Jeffrey A. Cox and wife Loretta, Charles J. Cox and wife Bronwyn, Billy W. Cox and wife Trebor, Gary R. Cox and wife Sandy, Vickie L. Lauderback and husband Larry, nineteen great – grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. Ms. Ersia was a member of First Baptists church of DeRidder for over 70 years and a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in the mid 60's.
