Obituary of Kenneth Edward Vickers

Funeral services for Kenneth Vickers will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 at ChristWay Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Interment will follow in Fort Polk Military Cemetery. Mr. Vickers, age 71, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 13th, 2013 in DeRidder, Louisiana. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Vickers was a retired civil servant and a Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Gegorek Vickers and Richard Vickers Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, Sunny Vickers, Ronnie Vickers, and Henry Vickers all of Baltimore, Maryland. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elsie Vickers of DeRidder, Louisiana; one son David Vickers and wife Donna of DeRidder, Louisiana; daughters Robin Stephens and husband Kevin of DeRidder, Louisiana and Terrie May and husband Josh of DeRidder, Louisiana; brothers Joey Vickers and Walter Vickers of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters Marie Yancheski and Christine Bowings of Baltimore, Maryland; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends may join visitation at ChristWay Church in DeRidder on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 from 9:00am until the time of service.
